FAQ on Incubator

Q What are the heating values of an incubator?
A The heating value of devices is required to determine the cooling capacity of an air conditioner (heating value of the oven).

Heating value of the oven

<<Formula>>
Heating value [Q] = heater capacity [W] × proportion to heater capacity (*) × 0.86 (1Kw = 860Kcal)

Classification Proportion to heater capacity (*) Exhaust port
Oven Approx. 60%
Approx. 75%
Closed
Opened
Vacuum dryer Approx.40%
High temperature furnace Approx.40%
Incubator Approx. 60%
Low temperature incubator Approx. 85% (Approx.400kcal/H)
Condition:  Room temperature 20°C; heater at its maximum temperature

<< Example of calculation >>
●Heating value of DN400 (Exhaust port:  open)
Heating value[Q] = 1100×0.75×0.86 = approx. 710kcal/H
1. Find the heater capacity of DN400 in the catalogue.  (Convert kW to W)
2. Apply values in the formula shown above.

Notes:

  • Note that the heating value will change whether the exhaust is made internally or not for apparatuses with larger exhaust ports.
  • For low temperature incubators almost all condensation heat (produced from heat exchange of freezer) is produced at the freezer.  The amount of heat is approximately 400Kcal/H.
