Japanese general business conditions in 2003 improved in comparison with the previous year.The steady strengthening of the USA economy rather than improved profits of Japan enterprises was a major factor, as the effects of deflation were still felt throughout the economy.

| Yamato Lab Tech achieved record sales volume, surpassing all records for the best sales record in the history of our company.Sales reached to ¥6,511 million (a 51% increase of ¥2,215 million from previous fiscal year), greatly impacted by demand from academic institutes working to comply with Safety and Health Laws. |
| Additionally our efficiencies and effectiveness were enhanced by our Yamato subsidiaries companies centralizing their manufacturing into one factory at Yamato Scientific Co.,Ltd. Minami Alps Factory’s main facility in Yamanashi Japan. |
| Individual segments reporting increases included, scientific equipment with a 16% increase, laboratory facility equipment was up 71% up, and custom instruments for LCD product line was gained 14%from the previous fiscal year. |
| In fiscal year 2004, Yamato Scientific Co.,Ltd. Minami Alps Factory will work to reinforce management and promote a much stronger brand name as a basis to build our customer’s loyalty, reliance, and trust in our products. |
| Further the promotion of cooperation among all Yamato subsidiaries companies working relationships in order to centralize their factory in Yamato Scientific Co.,Ltd. Minami Alps Factory, will be the foundation of our corporate policy. |
| Third, the acceleration of prime activities (increasing marginal profits, reducing inventory, shortening the lead time from purchasing – managing turn-over and collection, optimizing fixed costs) all aiming to reach our goal of higher profits and improved working capital within an overall aggressive workplace environment in which employees can attain maximum productivity with resulting high quality output. |
