Report on Establishment of Yamato Scientific Old Boys & Girls Club

The establishment meeting of “Yamato Scientific Old Boys & Girls Club” was held in the evening on October 16, 2003 (Tue.) at Tokai University Alumni Hall in Kasumigaseki Bldg., Tokyo.
The club was planned by 7 representative old boys who had retired Yamato Scientific and spent 6 months preparing to establish the club, where retired persons could enjoy the communication and keep in touch with each other.
The qualified old boys and girls had to retire after working for Yamato Scientific Co., Ltd. and/or subsidiary companies for over 20 years. Total of 101 retired persons were eligible to become the club member and as of September 2003. 80% of them joined the club, and53 members from whole Japan participated in the establishment meeting.
The agenda of the meeting began, with greeting from the representative old boy founders, then added a prayer silently to the late old boys and girls, followed by discussion of both name and regulations of the club, the selection of a club president, auditor. The guidelines of action, and budget plans were agreed with the great majority of participants.
Mr. T. Morikawa, Chairman and Mr. S. Morikawa of President/CEO of Yamato Scientific attended. They did not celebrate the establishment of the club, but expressed high respect for the old boys and girls’ contribution and their role in developing Yamato greatness in 114 years history of the company since the founding.
Each one attending enjoyed a pleasant time talking about the good old working time as well as the present daily life during the celebration party. Each member promised to meet again as the party came to a close.
