According to NIKKEI BP "Year 2002 Bio Related Companies Image Research", Yamato ranked up from 32nd to 23rd place in the company recognition ranking. Viewing companies ranked from 1st to 22nd place, most of them were major electrical companies or reagent manufactures that focused on IT and bioinformatics market. Yamato was the 2nd soon after Shimadzu in the order of the research assistant instrument market that was selected from all what company ranked.
